Lapel Pins Ceremony

• The activities of clubs and societies play a significant role in student`s personality development, the main theme / pillar of vision of NUST.
• Cover a diverse landscape with the activity span varying from few hours to a number of days in case of mega events.
• NUST provides this unique eco system, enabling environment and platform to the students to transform their energy, initiative and ideas into positive activities geared towards the key objective of personality development.
• SA Dte being the key office entrusted with this responsibility drives all its energy through the untiring efforts / dedication of the faculty sponsors and Student OBs, who are the anchors in attaining the desired objectives.
• Lapel pins award ceremony is manifestation of the acknowledgement of efforts of our faculty sponsors / OBs with award of lapel pins and bears testimony to their selfless endeavors during the academic year.
• At NUST, we strive to be creative with maximum student participation, purposeful fun activities, that help the student`s learning process and augment their personality development as future leaders.
• At present NUST has 41 Clubs & Societies and each follows the following hierarchy: –
  •   2 x Faculty Sponsors.

  •   General Secretary.

NUST ORIENTATION 2020

This cell functions to look into complaints lodged by any student. It provides students a forum or platform where they can lodge their complaints easily. Students can either file complaints/queries or requests by filling online student complaint form or they can email us as well. With the help of this system, students can easily reach out to us and we ensure that all the complaints/queries or requests are addressed on timely basis.

NUST Food Bank

NUST Food Bank is functioning under Student Affairs Directorate / Community Services Club. It aims to inculcate empathy and compassion in the affluent segment of the society towards the underprivileged. It aims to encourage the resourceful people/organizations with abundant food to donate the surplus to those who often sleep with an empty stomach. ‘Froods’ is run purely by NUST students, who collect the food and distribute it among the impoverished through its Food Bank. It also aims to curtail the enormous wastage of food from marriage halls and food outlets by collecting excess food at the end of the day and distributing it among the needy with responsibility and ensuring the sanctity of human dignity. ‘Froods’ is a non-profit, charitable organization that distributes food to those who have difficulty purchasing enough to avoid hunger.

Distribution Campaigns within/outside NUST premises:  

The distribution is an ongoing process wherein “FROODS” council distribute the food to the different segments of society, who are considered underprivileged. Approximately 60 individuals are given food during each campaign duly packed in styrofoam boxes with variety of either “Vegetable Pulao, Chicken Pulao, or Channa Pulao”.

• Clean Up Drives. NUST Environment Club organises a Clean Up Drive at the very heart of Islamabad, Faisal Mosque. In line with various productive activities of water reduction week, with many students joining and contributing to the cause. The week-long activities included the Earth Day celebration and cycling competition.
• Rawal Dam Clean-Up Drive. Over 80 volunteers participated in the Rawal Dam Clean-Up Drive, organised by the NUST Environment Club in collaboration with the Rotoract Club of Islamabad, to enjoy nature as a cherished amenity and to create awareness on the importance of conserving water and protecting it from plastic pollution. From collecting trash spread throughout the park to skimming the floating debris in the Dam, the Clean-Up was supremely pleasurable, as our volunteers engaged in boating and other fun activities throughout the day.
• Art from Waste. NUST Environment Club believes in reusing disposables in an innovative manner. The Club set up a community service for the students to make art from waste material such as bottles, cups etc.
