NUST Student Forum was constituted in year 2020.

NUST Student Forum Policy

Aim

The prime objective of the NUST Student Forum is to represent to the interests of the student body and to provide students an opportunity to exercise leadership skills and address their collective academic/administrative issues. The purpose is to improve NUST’s overall environment and educational system through input from larger student body.

Scope

Each school of NUST is to establish its own chapter of NSF, managed by student representatives from all undergraduate and postgraduate batches. This forum will extend necessary assistance to school management in Strategic, Planning and Execution matters at school and central level.

Composition:

Selection Criteria:

  • A minimum of 6 students will form the Forum at School level.
  • The forum will be gender balanced with adequate representation of hostelites and day scholars.
  • Members of the forum must not be on probation/deferment/suspension.
  • The duration of forum membership will be one academic year.

On commendable contribution during the entire year, each member of the forum will be awarded a Certificate of Appreciation.

Forum Meeting Schedule:

  • A meeting of the Student Forum with the Faculty Sponsor will be organized once a month during Fall and Spring Semesters.
  • The forum will meet the Commandant/Principal twice a semester. The date/time of the scheduled meeting will be communicated to all concerned at least one week in advance. However, a special meeting may be arranged to address any urgent issues as and when required.
  • All chapters of NSF at school level will meet the Rector at least once in a semester. The Student Affairs Directorate will organize the meeting.

6 Monthly Central Meetup 24th Dec 2024

NUST Student Forum (NSF) is constituted at each school to provide an opportunity for students to exercise leadership and address collective academic / administration issues at the institute level to improve the overall environment and education system.

A central interactive session of all chapters of the NSF (including focal persons/faculty sponsors) was organised by Student Affairs Dte under the chairmanship of Pro-Rector (Acad) Dr. Osman Hasan on December 24, 2024, at the NBS Seminar Hall. Focal persons from faculty and student representatives from each school highlighted their issues and  concerns that were responded to by the Pro-Rector (Acad), Director Adm, Director Field Adm,  Director  Student Affairs, and  concerned representatives.
