32 volunteers from the NUST Community Service Club (NCSC) embarked on a heartfelt journey to the Edhi Trust as part of the Orphans Know More initiative on 22 November 2024. The volunteers brought laughter, creativity, and compassion to the lives of children who call the trust their home.
The visit was meticulously planned, with volunteers divided into groups based on the children’s age and gender, ensuring meaningful interactions. The day began with lively activities, including life-sized Ludo that had everyone cheering, and a creative corner filled with painting and art activities that let imaginations soar. The children’s enthusiasm was infectious, and their smiles became the day’s true masterpiece.
In addition to the fun, the team took a moment to address a pressing issue: smog pollution. An engaging awareness session taught the children about its impact and ways to stay safe, followed by the distribution of masks. It was a small but significant effort to protect their health and well-being.
The generosity didn’t end there. Each child received a thoughtfully curated goodie bag, while the delectable brownies, kindly sponsored by Wimbledown Kitchen, added a sweet touch to the afternoon. The volunteers, along with the children, shared heartfelt moments that will be cherished by all.
Before returning to NUST, the council gathered for a memorable picture with the children, a snapshot of a day brimming with hope, care, and connection. Through this visit, the Orphans Know More initiative once again proved that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and cherished.
