“The Holy month of Ramadan is a golden opportunity for Muslims to enhance their moral, spiritual, and social lives. To fully benefit from the countless blessings this month bestows upon us, we must strive to be the best version of ourselves and ameliorate our relationship with Allah and His creation. Keeping this in view, a collaboration of NUST Environment Club (NEC), NUST Character Building Society (NCBS), and Chadar under supervision of ‘Student Affairs & Counselling Dte’ successfully managed an initiative “Carve A Smile” in which a stall was organized for two days, to raise the awareness of reuse and students also donated for the “Zindagi Noreen Trust Orphanage” and “Chadar Street School” visit and this better cause. The volunteers then visited the orphanage and the street school where they interacted with the children who were indulged in different activities such as coloring and storytelling. This was done to raise awareness about the conservation of the environment and to inculcate a sense of social responsibility in children towards the environment. They were informed about the “Reuse Campaign” and how can it enhance the environment. An Iftar was planned with the children of “Zindagi Noreen Orphanage Trust”.
All in all, the 4-day event was a huge success as it instilled a dire need to help others and to be a better human being, hence contributing towards an ideal community, which is the ultimate aim of Ramadan.”
